Banashankari Sixth Phase Residents' Welfare Development Association and residents and surrounding villagers started a continuous sit-in against the Lingadheeranahalli Solid Waste Unit and BBMP. On the third day, Honorable MLA and Government Minister S. T. Somashekar Gowda reached the protest site and asked them to call off the protest, but the association office bearers decided to continue the protest until the residents received an order to permanently close the unit.
